Friends! Team MC is hard at work putting the finishing touches on our August and September issues, which kind of has me forward tripping and thinking about fall. I know, I know, September doesn't mark the end of summer. It does have a back-to-school feeling that undeniably makes one think about what they're going to wear once the temperatures cool down just a bit, don't you think?

In an effort to stay present, this newsletter is pulling double duty. I'm offering up four fall trends you can wear right now and throughout the next handful of months.

—Nikki Ogunnaike, Editor-in-Chief

STRAIGHT-LEG JEANS:
Word has it that jean silhouettes are going slimmer for fall. I'm not keen on giving up my barrel-legs just yet, but I'd consider introducing a straight-leg jean now to wear with muscle tanks and sandals on the weekend.

KNEE-LENGTH SKIRTS:
After years of minis reigning as fashion's go-to skirt length, hemlines are falling and knee-length skirts are taking over. This is perfect for now—they pretty much match any kind of summer flat or heel—and even better with boots come fall.

SOMETHING BROWN:
I love that we're continuing to see more rich, chocolate shades—especially as someone who can sometimes find wearing black to be harsh on the eye. Embrace the rich hue now by teaming it with decidedly summer colors like yellow and orange. Then, go head-to-toe brown in a few months.

NEW VICTORIAN:
It's not quite boho, not quite romantic—it's somewhere in between. Concentrate on fabrics—think sheer, lace, frilly—now, then use leather accessories to toughen up your pieces in September.
