It-girls are wearing them nonstop

| Friends! I'm writing this to you from the backseat of an Uber, which can only mean one thing: Fashion month is officially upon us! Per usual, New York Fashion Week kicks off this very historic—dare we say, unprecedented—time in fashion, and team MC has been busy, busy, busy. This week alone, we dropped our Changemakers Issue starring the one and only Teyana Taylor, and joined forces with Who What Wear for our inaugural Friends and Family dinner. I also accepted Harlem's Fashion Row 2025 Editor of the Year Award.
And did I mention we're at the shows? I hope you're following along on Instagram and TikTok for our front row (and backstage) reporting.
This week, I'm keeping it short and sweet, sharing three style trends I've spotted at New York Fashion Week and where you can shop them now. Why wait, am I right?

| It took about five years, but I'm officially declaring that I'm ready to wear high heels again. But not just a regular heel: I'm talking mid '00s-inspired, sky-high platforms. If I were shopping for a pair (and let's be honest, now I am) I would take one of two routes. I could get a pair in a rich velvet texture, so I could wear it during holiday party season with tights. The other option is a classic leather pair that I can wear every summer for as long as I want to. |

| Cord necklaces have been having a moment on the streets, but also popped up at Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. Those runways solidified my need for the long, pendant style. The great thing about this "trend" is that it's actually not that trendy—more a classic that is sometimes put on ice, but always returned to, and can be shopped at every price point. |

| I'm calling it now: This is going to be the jacket of the season. Keep your barn jacket, sure, but add a brown leather number to the mix. You'll get good use of it now and all the way through the end of fall. |
